Get Nebula for Windows.

Free, no account and no card. Pro features can be tried from inside the app whenever you're ready.

  1. Run the installer

    It installs just for you, so Windows never asks for an administrator password. Everything Nebula needs is inside — there's nothing else to download first.

  2. Plug in your controller and map

    It shows up in the status bar. Open Mapping, click a button on the drawing, choose what it does, then turn the mapper on with the switch or F8.

  3. Optional: the virtual controller drivers

    For a virtual Xbox 360 / DualShock 4 controller, install ViGEmBus. To hide your real controller from games, install HidHide. Both are free, open source and made by Nefarius; Nebula links to them when you need them.

Windows may say it "protected your PC".

Windows shows this for any app it hasn't seen many times yet, and a brand-new app always starts there. Choose More info → Run anyway. If you'd like to be certain the file is the one we published, check its SHA-256 against the one on this page before you run it.

System requirements

  • Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit
  • A controller: Xbox, PlayStation, Switch or most HID pads — see the list
  • For the virtual controller: ViGEmBus. For hiding the real controller: HidHide (Pro)

Prefer a portable copy?

The portable .zip (1.8 MB · no installer) unzips anywhere and runs from the folder. It needs Microsoft's free .NET 8 Desktop Runtime, which the installer version doesn't.

Uninstalling

Open Settings → Apps, find Nebula Controller Mapper and choose Uninstall. It asks whether to keep your profiles, settings and licence, so reinstalling later picks up where you left off. If you used "Hide the real controller", Nebula has already put HidHide back the way it found it.
